Every Tuesday evening in July and August, come to Riquewihr for the open air market of local specialities. Buy what you like and eat it right away under the beautiful lime trees.

Riquewihr, first Tuesday in July, 6:00 pm.
The barbecues are on! The old vines will make beautiful grills. How does it work? You buy the good local products and you enjoy them on the spot with family or friends. There are farmers, a winemaker from Riquewihr (different every week) and a local beer brewer. Tonight is the first of the Tuesdays in the summer. The weather is nice and we are expecting a friendly evening. Everybody is welcome.

The market (but it is not only a market as I already said but a kind of open air fair or fête) is taking place under the lime trees, between the town hall of Riquewihr, the post office and the castle of Württemberg. It is cool on hot summer days, much more than on the cobblestones or pavement of a street. There is a huge parking nearby.

Summer Tuesdays: cheeses, good bread with bacon, sausage and pinot noir rosé of the village. This is the aperitive!

There are tables and chairs to accommodate many guests. Feel free to bring your plates, cutlery and glasses but you would also get them on site. Come with family or friends. The evening starts at 6 pm and continues until 23:00. Food and drinks are to be bought on site. The principle is simple: you buy what you like (sausage, ham, meat …) direct from the producer and you grill it yourself on one of the huge barbecues. There is also “charcuterie”, cheese, vegetables and salads.

There are many locals spending their evening there and conviviality settles by itself: we too are spending a pleasant moment chatting with the friends of the village.
