There are more than 30 restaurants in Riquewihr. Many people believe that in places with many tourists you can only find overpriced basic food. How wrong! Many restaurants means a tough competition. The restaurant that would overprice a poor quality offer would soon be out of business.
Here are some places where I like to have a lunch or a dinner and so do people living here in the area. Beside good food they offer excellent local wines at decent prices. The restaurants are listed in alphabethical order. All of those addresses are in the village, within easy walking distance from our holiday apartments. In most of the restaurants you will be allowed to bring your dog with you. Just ask before.
Au Trotthus – 9 rue des Juifs in Riquewihr – Tel 03 89 47 96 47
Walk up to the Dolder tower and take the small lane beside the fountain, heading for the Tour des Voleurs. The restaurant ‘Au Trotthus’ is hidden at the end of this narrow street. The chef Philippe Aubron spent some 17 years in Japan where he was a well-known French chef. His gourmet cuisine, inventive and refined, will satisfy the most demanding palates.
Set menus start at 33 Euros.

Le Dolder – 52 rue du Général De Gaulle – Tel 03 89 47 92 56
Traditional Alsatian Winstub restaurant in the main street, just round the corner at the beginning of the rue des Cordiers. Here you can taste the wonderful “green” choucroute, also called La Riquewihrienne, a speciality of Riquewihr.
L’Ecurie – 16 rue du Général De Gaulle – Tel 03 89 47 92 48
In the lower part of the main street, in a beautiful historical courtyard. Traditional cuisine in a spacious and charming dining room where Alsatian style and baroque are harmoniously mixed. Another place where you can taste the wonderful “green” choucroute, La Riquewihrienne, a speciality of Riquewihr.
(La) Grappe d’Or

(La) Table du Gourmet
La Table du Gourmet – 5 rue de la Première Armée – Tel 03 89 49 09 09
In the middle of the village, the Michelin star restaurant of Jean-Luc Brendel. Every season a new set of creative recipes comes to life together with new colours, flowers and herbs. According to us, would deserve a second Michelin star. Jean-Luc wants to be a “cook of emotion” and indeed he is. To match this wonderful cuisine you will also find the best wines of Alsace on the list.

Beautiful traditional Alsatian Winstub restaurant in the middle of the main street. The blue house with the fox in front of the courtyard. Traditional Alsatian cuisine with good value for money. Wines are those of Régine Zimmer, owner of the place. They are excellent.
