A wounderful Christmas event out of the beaten track
This event is one among the few which are not very well-known by tourists but which are prepared by locals for locals. Every year, thousands of Alsatian families are attending. In the year 2012 it was happening in the village of Lalaye. This year, in 2013, it will be in the village of Fouchy on Dec 7-8.
Every year, the valley of Villé organizes in early December, a weekend on the Christmas theme. Each year, one of the 18 villages in the canton of Villé is doing the job on behalf of all the others. Illuminations, scenes, and concerts illustrate and revive Christmas as it was in the past. The village Lalaye-Charbes held this festival in 2012. In 2013 it will take place in Fouchy. As usual everyone will find – according to his desires and spread over different places – exclusive animations, storytellers, choirs and church music groups, exhibitions, tours with original discoveries, but also many Alsatian catering places.

The village of Lalaye was divided into “bubbles” or areas, each typically and specifically decorated. The visitor discovered the world’s forests, wood crafts, local wildlife and follow the minor’s track through the silver mines and the magical forest. The village of Lalaye-Charbes is rich in history and was specially decorated at the occasion of this Christmas festival. There was live Christmas music in the streets, live workshops, stalls of objects made by local residents, church concerts (choral and instrumental), gourmet catering dishes. Get into the Christmas spirit that has been prepared by the inhabitants of Lalaye-Charbes throughout the year.
