Next weekend I will attend the Nordic sled dog race at the ski resort of Lac Blanc, on the heights of the valley of Kaysersberg, not far away from Riquewihr.

Snow is forecasted for almost every day of this week until next weekend. So there should be enough for the teams to run! Since I discovered the extraordinary and heroic role of sled dogs on the Hautes-Vosges ridges during the First World War, I am fascinated by the courage and beauty of these incredible doggies. Last year I had the opportunity for the first time to attend a real Nordic sled dog race.

The track of the race follows about ten kilometers through the magnificent snowy landscapes.

The Lac Blanc race is held in front of the auberge du Blancrupt. The headquarters are there.
